The Saint Lucia Development Bank, in partnership with the Government of Saint Lucia, The NAP Office, and Monroe College Training Institute have successfully recruited and trained an average of 150 students every trimester to the National Apprentice Training Programme.
The programme aids students (mainly from the south of the island) in gaining employment with the cruise lines and in the tourism industry. It provides training in the areas of Front Office, House Keeping, Bartending an Events Management.
Mark Jerome, President of Monroe College Training Institute stated at the graduation ceremony that even after the students graduate, no matter where they may go, they will always have support from the school.
